Description

Fine, small Edwardian tortoiseshell dressing table box with gilt metal mounts, circa 1905.

The brass hinges and catch work well.

The lid opens to reveal 3 compartments.

'J. C. Vickery 179, 181, 183 Regent St' is stamped on the reverse.

Retailer: J. C. Vickery was founded in 1890 in London. The box must have been made after 1900 as it was in that year that Vickery extended his premises from his initial base at 183 to include 179 and 181 Regent Street. The style of the mounts suggests it was made between 1900 and 1910.
