Description

Outstanding quality and condition English 19th century figured walnut glazed top bookcase on cabinet with all original brass mounts and adjustable shelves, circa 1880.
The colour and grain pattern of the walnut used on this bookcase really are stunningly beautiful, along with the quality of craftsmanship. End grain mouldings to the plinth and mid section, book matched veneers and solid brass mounts giving a crisp contrast with the walnut tone.
The top section has three fully adjustable shelves and are lined with a green brushed velvet. Ideal for shallow depth books of display.
The base section has a single full width fixed shelf.
The bookcase is a shallow depth so it can stand in a number of places and ideally somewhere you will see it everyday and can see the side profiles, without the concern of depth overpowering a living room or hall / landing area for example.
Wonderful piece of antique English Victorian furniture and of the highest quality.
Measuring:
92 1/2 inches or 235 cm high
And a half inches or 123 cm maximum plinth width
