Set of 10ft 6’’ Victorian solid wrought iron driveway gates
Very impressive and well proportioned set of late 19th century solid wrought iron driveway gates with banded and riveted fixing (not welded) which is a sign of great quality and craftsmanship. Circa 1880 and in good solid condition.
The gates are ideal for a driveway opening of 10ft 6’’ to 11ft, but if you would like them for a wider driveway, do get in touch as it is no problem to supply bespoke additional posts and panels to match.
These gates are solid throughout, the main side columns measuring 1 1/4’’ or 3cm thick so as you can imagine, they are very heavy and have aged well with no issues.
The gates have been cleaned and black painted, so they are ready to instal.
I can arrange for hanging straps to suit your pillars etc, but can be discussed and supplied accordingly. The bottom hinge is on a pivot which takes the majority of weight, so will require a recessed cup fitting.
