TJ Antiques is very proud to offer for sale this maritime superb and rare ships chart table of outstanding quality.
The table dates from around 1860 and has a solid mahogany top in one complete piece NO JOINTS. It stands on a solid pine base with 6 legs each terminating in iron shoes that would have been used to secure the table to the ships deck.
The table we believe to be a chart table as it was made to go against the side of the ship but could easily be stood in the centre of a room as its not obvious both sides are well finished. The rail has been removed at some time making the piece a more practical and useable piece of furniture within a shop interior or as a side or dining table in the home. This is truly a delightful piece of maritime quality with all its history intact we have not done any restoration and the table is all original and in good condition.
On the underside of the table top is written the words Bucon News Paper Rock if that means anything to anybody if anyone has any ideas would be interested in hearing from you.

Condition: The table is as it came in and is in superb condition with some signs of 160 years of use as you both would expect and want to see. The top rail has been removed many years ago but as I say this makes it a more serviceable table.
