A superb fully hallmarked antique gold locket which is suspended from a stylish 9ct gold 20 inch necklace.

This 9ct gold keepsake locket was crafted by Matthews & George in the reign of George V.

This elaborately engraved portrait locket was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Chester Assay Office in 1920.

The anterior surface is embellished with an oval cartouche framed by scroll work and acanthus leaves.

The posterior surface is also ornamented with superbly executed acanthus leaves.

Acanthus leaves represent the desire for longevity.

This deep bodied keepsake pendant is suitable to hold two photographs, locks of hair or miniature portraits.

The original solid gold photograph frames and clear portrait protectors are included.

All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
