A splendid fully hallmarked antique gold locket pendant which is suspended from a stylish 18 inch 9 carat gold necklace.

This solid gold locket pendant was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Chester Assay Office in 1919.

The anterior surface is decorated with a shield cartouche which is framed by forget-me-not flowers, acanthus and ivy leaves.

The posterior surface is also ornamented with forget-me-not flowers, acanthus and ivy leaves.

The shield symbolises the desire to protect.

Forget-me-not flowers symbolise deep love and respect.

Acanthus leaves represent the desire for longevity / immortality.

The original 9 carat gold frames and clear portrait protectors are present.

The hinge and catch work perfectly.

This antique pendant is ideal to hold two photographs, portraits or locks of hair.
