Description

Fine set of six late Victorian Coalport oyster plates with 5 oyster wells and moulded seashell and seaweed decoration. The shaped rims are painted in a rich mazarine blue frame with gilded scalloped borders with feathered detail. Marked to the back with the Coalport mark for c.1895 and additionally with retailer mark with Maple & Co. Ltd.

They measure 22.5cm (8 3/4") wide and 2cm (7/8") high. Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs and minimal surface wear they have clearly been very little used.
