Description

Beautifully painted Derby dessert plate after the William Curtis botanical study of the Toothed ("Tooted") Leaved Hibbertia. Painted on a plain white ground with simple gilded rim. Scripted title painted to the reverse and red Derby mark for c.1806.

It measures 8 7/8" wide and 1 1/4" high. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. The surface of the porcelain is finely crazed, with some very small patches of discolouration in a few places near the rim and there is minimal surface wear to the enamel.
