Description

Lovely mid 19th century Derby figure of a seated fox on a rectangular base with green grass painted top and with gilt bands and garlands around the side. Beautifully modelled and painted. Marked underneath with the red Stevenson & Hancock Derby mark, c.1863-66. Please see Ceramics Of Derbyshire 1750 - 1975 by Bradley, plate 327 for an illustration.

It measures 4" high and 3 1/4" by 2 1/4" wide. Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration. Light surface wear including a small glaze flake to one side of the base.
