Description

An English majolica sardine box with integrated tray and cover by Thomas Forester in a cobalt blue ground decorated with moulded water / pond lilies and dragonflies and a bird finial of a sparrow. Pink glazed inside. c.1880.

It measures 10.5cm (4 1/4") high and 22cm (8 5/8") by 18.5cm (7 1/4") wide.

In good condition some very good professional restoration to one of the wings and a corner of the cover. The pink ground to the base is crazed with some discolouration.
