A blue scalloped border below the rim, edged in gilt with raised gilt decoration of arabesques framing a detailed diaper type pattern, and alternating with small gilt leaves. Below the frieze four slim panels with a turquoise enamel ground and painted with fruit and leaves and the larger four reserved areas are painted with small plum type fruits and some green garlands with red berries. Gilt scalloped detail just above the foot, down the back of the handle and gilt dentil rim on the inside. The Wigornia W mark to the base c.1780

Reference: see The Zorensky Collection, Spero & Sandon, plate 358 for a coffee cup and saucer in the same pattern.

It measures 4.7cm (1 7/8") high and 7.5cm (3") rim to rim.

In very good condition: there are some very small foot rim chips but they are all underglaze and are mainly just nicks on the outer edge. They appear worse than are in the photographs due to the shadows. No damage or repair and minor handling wear in the main a bit of wear to the gilt on the rim and handle and a small group of fruit painted inside the base is worn but the outer walls have minimal signs of handling.
