18thC Derby Trio 118 Zachariah Boreman

Description
Stunning early Derby trio of coffee cup, tea bowl and saucer in a pretty concave fluted shape. Pattern number 118 comprising a salmon ground band runs around the upper half of each piece intersected with a white and gilded band and the lower half remains white with gilded tea drops creating a very striking design. The centre of each piece is beautifully painted with varying landscape scenes of a figure by a lake surrounded by hills and trees. These are attributed to Zachariah Boreman, this trio is illustrated with full details in colour plate 22 of Derby Porcelain by John Twitchett. Puce mark, this trio is dated c.1785.The cup measure 2 5/8" high, 2 5/8" rim to rim and 3 1/2" rim to handle. The bowl is 2 3/8" high and 3" wide and the saucer is 1" high by 5 1/4" wide. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. There is a very little surface wear in places, mainly to the gilding at the rims a little and to the edge of the vignette inside the bowl, but certainly minor for age and use.
