Morgan of Edinburgh Mahogany Longcase Clock

Photos

Description

A very pretty, small and slim mahogany longcase clock of typical Edinburgh proportions. 8 day, weight driven movement striking the hours on a bell. The 12”, early, painted dial is unusual in being decorated in grey rather than the usual gilding, which gives a very pleasing effect. The calendar is the early square aperture, with a silvered brass calendar ring. The case is of fine mahogany veneers with reeded columns to the hood and reeded quarter columns to the slender trunk. The hood features the usual neat Edinburgh swan-neck pediment with decorative sound frets.
