Description

A nicely proportioned, light oak, longcase clock by Thomas Crutchfield of Arborfield Cross, and unusually signed with the county of Berkshire. 12” square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, finely matted centre and Rococo spandrels. The weight driven 8 day movement is of fine quality with (unusually for this period) a fifth latched pillar. The case of light ‘honey’ coloured oak has typical Southern features of attached hood pillars and a long trunk door.
