Description

A really pretty 8 day longcase by Samuel Thorndike, Ipswich (1757 – 1819). Good quality 5 pillar movement, striking the hours on a bell. The 12” Wilson dial with typical “Period One” pretty decoration, seconds and calendar and blued steel hands. The well proportioned oak case has a lovely colour and patina with double plinth, medulary-ray door with good moulding to the edge. Blind fret to the hood and removable pagoda top.
