A 19th century parian sculpture of a pair of handsome hunting hounds.A superb tabletop parian sculpture of a pair of hunting dogs. Beautiful detailing in this piece which is in excellent condition.
Inscribed to the base with the sculptor's initials F/T.
English, circa 1860.
Parian is a type of biscuit porcelain, imitating marble, developed in the mid-nineteenth century. With an unglazed finish the detail of the sculpture remains beautifully sharp. This is a lovely example in excellent condition - no breakages or repairs and with fine detail and colour.
