Description

A handsome Georgian high dresser probably from Shropshire and dating to c.1760. The top has a moulded dentil cornice with a small cross incised into the centre of each dentil and a scrolling pierced frieze below. With a half boarded plate rack flanked by two spice cupboards with sunburst and rope twist inlay which also finishes the quarter-sawn oak drawers below. The base has a shaped apron and supported by two cabriole front legs and straight back legs.

With a super deep colour and patina, it does have some marks to the top which add to the character and the right spice cupboard has some fading. The brassware has been changed and the base has slightly sagged in the middle over the years and these are mentioned for completeness as they do not detract from this very charming desirable piece of furniture

Width - 75 1/4in (191cm)
Depth - 17 3/4in (45cm)
Height - 77 1/4in (196cm)
Top lifts off the base for moving.
