Description

This is a fine quality burr walnut credenza dating to the mid Victorian period circa 1870.  It is beautifully inlaid using rare thuya veneers, boxwood and ebony, and  is further enhanced with attractive ormolu mounts and a hand painted Sèvres plaque of a courting couple.

It has two elegant bowed ends with curved glass doors enclosing a red velvet lined interior with two boxwood string inlaid shelves.  The central cupboard encloses two shelves and is also velvet lined.   All the doors are fitted with locks marked with a coat-of-arms and come with keys.

This credenza is in very good condition, the velvet in the centre section is faded and torn and the feet have the usual scuffs.
