Description

Early Victorian Oak Library Bookcase

This is a good early Victorian oak bookcase with a moulded cornice above open shelves and a base with six fielded panel cupboard doors. The nine shelves to the upper section have moulded fronts are adjustable or removeable and measure 22cm deep (although deeper books can be put there because of the open design.

The base has two 40.5cm deep fixed shelves behind each pair of doors which have turned handles, locks and catches (we do not have a key).

This is a beautiful golden colour and has been made with superior quarter-sawn oak which gives a distinct ‘sun-ray’ grain to the wood.

The overall measurements are

Depth 48cm (18 7/8in)
Height 273cm (107 1/2in)
