Description

A large German lantern clock, the gilt‑brass case fitted with sunburst‑decorated side doors and ornate pierced brass frets. The silvered chapter ring displays Roman numerals with a single hand in traditional lantern‑clock style. The 8‑day movement features a ting‑tang strike on two bells for the quarters and a single‑bell hour strike. The movement is stamped WH&SCH, identifying it as the work of Winterhalder & Hofmeier, one of the most respected German clockmaking firms of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
