19th C French four glass with Ellicott pendulum

Description
A high quality French Four glass clock. The backplate marked Platnauer Freres Paris and stamped Marti Paris. The quality case of Gorge design and having bevelled glass. The 8-day movement strikes the hours and half hours on a bell and having a visable Brocot escapement with jewelled pallets. The pendulum is an Ellicott style compensation pendulum.Platnauer brothers were retailers based in Birmingham 1871-94
