French "bombe" chest of drawers with marble top (a11291)

Good quality and good size French "bombe" chest with all original veneers, ormolu and this thick slab of shaped marble too, circa 1920 and in excellent condition.

Very decorative with the serpentine louis xv frame, but it is the "bombe" shape which sets this style apart from other pieces.
The bombe refers to the section at the front and sides that bulges forward, giving the shape

The two drawers are made in oak and run very well, so this is a very useable chest, but equally looks lovely as a stand alone decorative piece with a mirror above in the hall!
