Very decorative French painted two seater sofa "canape" in the "directoire" style, original paint finish too, circa 1880
The sofa is a lovely piece to see from all angles with its sweeping back and fantastic carvings
Comfortable for occasional use, perfect for a window seat, or end of bed perhaps...the seat of the sofa is sprung, it's comfortable but if you were to replace the vintage upholstery, it would be good to re pad the seat too...though not immediately necessary
