Description

This is a lovely ormolu Gryphon Table Lamp with a shade from the makers of the Downton Abbey series lampshades. The lamp has an oval base, with dolphin head feet, topped with a Gryphon, all in ormolu. A Gryphon has the body of a lion, with the head and wings of an eagle.

The shade is in the Saltzburg style and is made of gold and black Italian Damask with soft gold fringe, gold and black braid and long black and gold beaded tassels.

The lamp has been newly rewired with antique gold coloured silk covered wire and has all new fittings. As with all electrical items it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician before use.

Condition In good antique condition, with some discolouration to the gilding in some small areas. The shade is new.
