We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely impressionist oil on canvas by the artist Walter Robin Jennings, who has signed the painting W. R. Jennings in the lower right hand corner and dated it 1950. This is one of his early works. St. Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall, near Marazion. There is a causeway to the island which is passable at mid to low tide.

Walter Robin Jennings 1927-2005 was born in Dudley, Staffordshire and was an active artist throughout most of his working life. He was a landscape and animal painter, primarily in oil and exhibited widely. His work has been reproduced in card form by Medici, Royle and Solomon & Whitehead. He sadly died in Kiderminster in 2005.

There is one of his paintings in the National Collection and can be viewed at Dudley Museum.

The painting is newly framed in a 3 7/8" swept gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Condition Very good condition. The canvas is clean and taut and has only one small repair, as shown. There is no craquelure or stretcher marks. The frame is new.
