We are offering for sale this stunning and brilliantly executed watercolour by the wildlife artist George Hogg, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a cockerel in glorious colour, standing on a heap of feather strewn straw.

George Hogg, was born in India in 1950 and moved to the UK in 1978. He was a lead guitarist and artist, but the interest generated in his paintings focussed him to become a professional artist. He paints wildlife, particularly birds.

He is entirely self-taught and has exhibited and sold internationally and throughout the UK. He regularly exhibits at the annual exhibition of the Society of Wildlife Artists and has won the following awards

The Stock Exchange Art Society award for work of outstanding merit.

The East African Wildlife Society, Nairobi, award in support of wildlife conservation.

Windsor & Newton award for a watercolour.

A 22" x 13" watercolour of goldfinches by George Hogg sold for £995 on the website of the David Shepherd Foundation.

The painting is mounted with washlines and is framed in a 7/8" gilt frame. It will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
