Description

We are offering for sale this impressionist oil on board by an unknown artist. The painting depicts a sunny day on a narrow canal in Venice, with a campanile or bell tower as the central feature. There is a typical Venetian bridge to the left with some colourful barges moore alongside the broad walkway in front of the buildings on the right. There is a pavement cafe with umbrellas and two figures walking in the shade.

This is one of two paintings by this hand that we are listing.

Unfortunately, as the artist did not sign his or her work, we can offer no biographical information.

The painting has been newly framed in a 2 5/8" gilt frame with black line, which suits it very well. It is ready to hang.
