We are offering for sale this delightful, large watercolour by the artist ROBERT J. COPPILLIE, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a kingfisher on a branch of willow with catkins. The kingfisher is one of Britain's most beautiful birds and many people have been lucky enough to see the flash of brilliant blue as it dives into water for food.

Robert J. Coppillie was born in London in 1951. He is a painter in watercolour and gouache and a teacher. He paints flowers, birds and wildlife. He moved to Suffolk in 1976.

He has held teaching courses at Snape Maltings, where he exhibited. He also exhibited at the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Harte Gallery in Ipswich. He held solo exhibitions at Harrods and several galleries in East Anglia.

The paintings is mounted and very nicely framed in a light wood frame with gilt insert. It is ready to hang.
