We are offering for sale this delightful watercolour by the artist ROBERT J. COPPILLIE, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a view of a wren, perched on some hawthorn branches, which are in full bloom. The wren is Britain's smallest bird.

This is one of a pair of ornithological paintings by this artist that we will be listing.

Robert J. Coppillie was born in London in 1951. He is a painter in watercolour and gouache and a teacher. He paints flowers, birds and wildlife. He moved to Suffolk in 1976.

He has held teaching courses at Snape Maltings, where he exhibited. He also exhibited at the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Harte Gallery in Ipswich. He held solo exhibitions at Harrods and several galleries in East Anglia.
The paintings is mounted and very nicely framed in a burr wood frame. It is ready to hang.
