Description

We are offering for sale this signed, limited edition photolithograph which was published by Richard Wyman & Co. Ltd. 16 Bedfird Street, Strand, London W.C. and signed in pencil by Cecil Aldin in the mount. It is numbered 75 also in pencil to the right. This was part of the Old Coaching Roads series, which was enlarged to include The Mitre in Oxford and renamed Old Country Inns series. It was published circa 1910.

The Bull Inn in Dartford is a listed building and still stands today. It is now known as The Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel.

Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin RBA 1870-1935 was a painter of animal, sporting scenes and topographical subjects, mostly in watercolours. He studied at The Royal College of Art and under Frank Calderon. He illustrated a number of books, including Kipling's Jungle Stories (1894-5) and worked for magazines. Large numbers of his works have been reproduced in print form.

The print has an outer mount with wash lines and is framed in a 1 1/2" wooden frame. It is ready to hang.
