We are offering for sale this very well executed oil on canvas by the artist L. Bromley, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner and on the back edge of the canvas. The painting depicts a woven basket containing a melon, several apples, a lemon and some cobnuts, with a glass lidded comport to its left.

After some research, we have discovered a Miss L. Bromley, who lived in Leicester and exhibited between 1909 and 1913. However, the canvas bears the ESK stamp of the Ecole South Kensington, or Royal Academy Schools, so there is a possibility she may have studied there. She exhibited 3 paintings at the Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery.

The painting is framed in its original 2" gilt frame and is ready to hang.
