We are offering for sale this well executed arab street scene by the Italian artist E. Romano, who has signed the painting verso, as shown. The painting has been painted on Whatman Board in subtle tones and depicts a narrow arab street, with covered balconies extending over the street a huge archway to the right and a multitude of figures going about their daily lives in the street. There is the tall minaret of a mosque in the centre background, and it may well be that the people in the street are just leaving prayers.

There are several listings for artists with this surname and a christian name beginning with E, as well as some listings for E. Romano. As we are unsure which of these are the artist who painted these paintings, we can offer no definitive biographical information.

The painting is mounted in a two-tone mount and framed in a 1/2" frame with gilt insert. It is ready to hang.
