We are offering this very welll executed still Life oil painting on Canvas by the Italian artist Francesco Alberti, who has signed the painting F. Alberti in the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a wooden table on which are a globe of the world, a ceramic oil lamp with a broken chimney, a ceramic ewer, two books and an opened envelope. The top book is open showing some foxing marks, and some page browning, with a green satin bookmark laying on the open pages.

Francesco Alberti was born in 1941 in a province of Milan. He seemed to mainly specialise in still life oils and has had about 10 or so paintings through the auction markets in recent years. He apparently died in 1996, but we are unable to verify this as the information on relatively modern foreign artists is scanty.

The painting has been newly framed in a very nice, 3 inch, pale coloured, vintage, swept frame, which tones very well with the subject matter. It will be supplied with new brass hangers, new brass picture wire and will be ready to hang.

Condition: Very good. There is one tiny repair to the canvas, which is clean and taut. The frame is in very good condition.
