Description

This is a very well hand carved figure study of a recumbent hound dog in softwood. The natural colouring, grain and striations in the wood run through the dog in a very aesthetically pleasing way, giving its front legs, underbody, muzzle and ears, a darker colouring.

The carving is quite detailed, showing the claws of the dog. It has been made from a single piece of wood, with the possible exception of the eyes, which may be separate pieces added, or they have been stained. It is unsigned

Condition: Very good with no damage save for a faint scratch across the underneath.
