We are pleased to offer this pair of beautifully cast Bronze Chenets or Andirons in Louis XV style, probably formerly gilded, which bear the mark of the renowned Parisian bronzier Charles Casier. They are signed Ch. Casier on both pieces and also bear his entwined Cs mark.

They each feature a reclining cherub, draped at the loins, playing musical instruments. The one of the left playing pan pipes and the one of the right playing something like a double flute. To the side of the cherubs are upswept double scrolled pedestals, with floral swags and foliate ornamentation at their feet, which are topped with urns, with long side handles and flame finials.
