Description

We are offering for sale this impressionist still life oil on canvas by the artist Yevgeny Balakshin, who has signed the painting in cyrillic in the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a silver mounted claret jug or ewer, with a glass vase of pink and yellow roses and a couple of pears, sitting on a cutwork cloth.

Yevgeny Balakshin (also written as Evgenii and Balakchine) was born in Saransk, republic of Mordovia, in Russia in 1961. He graduated from Saransk Art School, Department of Painting. In 1991, he became of Member of The Union of Artists of Russia. Since 1998 he lives and works in Paris. Some of his works are held in Mordovian Republican Art Museum and in private collections in Russia and the world. One of his larger works achieved £2,865 in France in 1993.

The painting is framed in a 2 1/8" gilt frame and is ready to hang.
