We are offering for sale this finely carved, Victoria, Mahorany Wall Bracket. It is covered with foliate swags and floral carving, with a profile head and shoulders bust of a man wearing a powdered wig in the centre surounded by a foliate wreath and terminated by a bow. As the bracket is quite heavy, there is a metal bar set into the backet to facilitate the bracket hanging on the wall. It could take a shallow bracket clock.Construction of the bracket was made by applying thick pieces of solid mahogany to a central triangular shaped piece of oak and then carving the mahogany.
