Description

We are pleased to offer for sale this panoramic watercolour view of the rooftops of the City of London, with the silhouette of St. Paul's Cathedral dominating the skyline. This is how the City used to look, with church spires and chimneys sending smoke from a multitude of fires up into the air, before the advent of the horrendous, monolithic modern buildings dwarfing the historical. The painting is signed with the monogram A.D. painted on to the side of a large chimney stack in the lower left hand corner.

Unfortunately, without more information, we have been unable to locate the name of the artist and, therefore, cannot offer any biographical details. However the painting has been executed superfly and indubitably by a professional hand.

The watercolour is mounted and is framed in a black, brown and charcoal coloured 2" frame. It will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
