Description

We are offering for sale this pair of Gothic revival brass and enamel Candlesticks. They bear the makers mark T P & S impressed into the base. As we could find no trace of this mark, we consulted oldcopper.org, but they have no knowledge of it either.

The brass circular base with enamelled decoration in black and dark red in leaf shapes, leads to a smooth column of brass decorated with half diamonds at the top and bottom, with a central brass knop decorated with round holes.

A twisted reeded column with half diamonds above and below it, leads to the drip pan, which has Gothic crenellations.

Dimensions:

Height: 7 1/2" - 19cm

Diameter of base: 4" - 10.15cm

Material: Brass & enamel.

Condition: Excellent. There is no pitting to the brass or any apparent damage. There is minimal wear to the enamelling consistent with age.
