We are offering this very attractive pair of Continental, probably Italian, Rouge Marble & Gilt Metal Table Lamps, with new, traditional scalloped and lined dove grey lampshades, trimmed to tone with the bases.

The bases are of rouge marble in a covered urn shape, with swags to the front and back, cherub heads to the sides and gilt metal socles. These stand upon a square marble slab upon oval gilt metal bases, with armorial devices to the front, terminating in four splayed feet. The lamps are in the empire style.

Provenance: The estate of the late Sheila Farebrother, who passed away in December 2017, the mother of Sir Elton John.

The lamps have been rewired with antique style fabric covered braided flex and have all new fittings, including safer switched lampholder and plug. As with all electrical items it is recommended that they be checked by a qualified electrician before use
