Description

We offering this beautiful pair of Continental Porcelain Candlesticks which are marked W & R on the base, along with a ribbon mark. The candlesticks feature a pair of winged Cherubs standing in front of a stylised tree trunk. One of them is holding a tall palm frond and has a ribbon wrapped staff in the other hand, while the more scantily clad one is holding two wreaths. They are standing on a grassy knoll and the sconces and ornate scroll and pierced bases are gilded.

Unfortunately we have been unable to trace the mark online, but have checked that it isn't English or listed in Godden.

Material: Porcelain

Condition: Very good with a few small historic restorations, but no chips, cracks or missing gilding.
