We are offering for sale this attractive brass rise and fall adjustable Desk or Students Lamp and glass shade, which is twentieth century in origin.

The base of the lamp is wooden and green baized, topped with a stepped onyx section, above which is an ornate brass foliate base to the column, which is surmounted by a ribbon holding a foliate spray. The reeded, curved arm has floral and foliate ornamentation and has a rise and fall adjustment on the column,with an embossed knob which loosens and tightens, to allow it to move up and down the column. The arm itself is able to rotate upwards and downward, as well as from side to side on a ball fitting.

The shade is made of frosted glass in the shape of a flower with three rows of petals.

The lamp has been completely rewired in antique gold coloured fabric covered braided flex with an inline on/off switch, new lampholder and new plugs. As with all electrical items it is recommended that they be checked by a qualified electrician before us.

Condition: Very good. The shade has no cracks or nibbles and the lamp itself is in very good condition.
