Description

We are delighted to offer for sale this beautiful 19th Century Japanese Imari porcelain table lamp, in a slender elongated vase shape, which has been, in the past, converted from a vase. The circular stepped and curved ormolu base, which has three ball feet, is echoed by the beautifully cast, ornate, foliate cap. The lamp is finished by a bespoke shade from the makers of the Downton Abbey, Mr. Selfridge, TV series lampshades.

The shade is in the 'Ballerina' style, has a gold sateen crown, a body of terracotta sateen, gold fringe with long terracotta tassels, the whole finished with a matching two-tone braid.

The lamp has been rewired with antique gold coloured braided flex, with all new fittings, including a safer switched lampholder. As with all electrical items, it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician before use.
