Description

We are offering this lovely triptych of floral watercolours that were painted on silk in the 19th Century in Japan, that each bear red seal signatures.

The painting on the left is of a white lily with two flowers, with two bees hovering overhead and is in a rectangular shape. The central painting in an arched shape, is of a yellow hibiscus, with one bud about to open and several smaller ones, and the one on the right, also rectangular, is of a pink lily with one flower and two buds. The painting has been executed with great delicacy and a light touch.

We have retained the original mount, but the set has been reframed in a 1 1/2" pale gold ornate frame, which complements it very well without detracting from the delicate flowers.
