Description

This is a lovely tondo, portrait, oil on canvas by an unknown artist. It depicts a pretty young girl of about nine or ten years, with a mass of curly brown hair, parted in the middle, and blowing in the wind. She is holding a red shawl tightly around her shoulders.

The canvas is laid down on board and backed and may have been cut down to fit the frame, resulting in the loss of the name of the artist, or, alternatively, it could be a portion of a larger painting, with the same result. However, it is a very attractive portrait and has been very well executed.

The painting is framed in a circular 2cm gilt frame with beaded edge and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Condition: Very good. There is no damage, craquelure or paint loss and the surface is clean. The frame is in very good condition.
