Description

We are offering for sale this very finely cast, solid Brass Candlestick from the Victorian period, in the form of a large snake or serpent. The snake is holding a flower in its mouth, which is the candle sconce. The stick weighs 1 1/4 kg or 2.11 lbs. The snake bears an impressed capital M on its base, with a small number 2 at the base of the last downstroke of the M. We have been unable to identify the maker.

Width of base: 4" - 10.1cm

Condition: Very good. The sconce and bobeche unscrew for cleaning.
