Description

We are offering for sale this useful Art Deco aneroid Desk Barometer made in Wurttemberg by the German maker H.A.C. (Hamburg American Company). The Barometer is in stained hardwood, possibly beech and has a visible mechanism within a porcelain dial, bevelled glass and a brass bezel. It stands on four circular wooden feet.

After the death of Erhard Junghans in 1876, his son-in-law Paul Landenburger left to set up his own factory called Landenburger & Lang. In 1883 its name was changed to Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik or H.A.U. in Germany or Hamburg American Company elsewhere. H.A.C. became a very well known German clock company. It merged with Junghans in 1930.
