Description

We are offering for sale this superb pair of Ormolu Triple Arm Wall Lights including gold tone twisted bent tip bulbs. 4 spare bulbs will be provided in the sale.

They feature a surmount of a Cherub or Putto blowing twin pipes below which issue the triple arms with reeded edged bobeche pans and feather decorated candle sconces. Each arm has a thin scroll below it terminating in a rosette. Below these are a pair of crossed leaves with a bow and caduceus. The caduceus is the traditional symbol of Hermes, the messenger of the gods and has two wound round an often winged staff. The caduceus is often wrongly used as the symbol of medicine, particularly in the States, while the Rod of Asclepius is the actual symbol of medicine and only has one snake.

They have been rewired but, as with all electrical items, it is recommended that they be checked by a qualified electrician before installation.
