Description

We are offering this pair of Middlesbro' Pottery Blue & White Willow Pattern transfer printed earthenware Meat Plates, which would be ideal for the Christmas dinner, with the larger for the turkey and the smaller for the roast potatoes and all the trimmings. The smaller plate bears the impressed mark of the anchor, surrounded by Middlesbro' Pottery in letters, as shown. The larger one is unmarked. According to Godden, this mark dates to 1834-1844, but may also have been used by the Middlesbrough Earthenware Co. up to 1852.

Size of the larger: 17 7/8" x 14 1/8"

Size of the smaller: 13 5/8" x 11"

Condition: Very good, consistent with age. There are no chips or cracks.
