Description

This is a cut and reverse etched Venetian mirror, probably from the mid 20th Century. It has a burgundy coloured band etched with a floral and foliate pattern, with a matching oval section in the crest, which has foliate shaped sections on each side. The central mirror section is proud of the surround and has a cut edge to match the outer edge of the surround.

The wooden back of the mirror has a chain with central ring for hanging it securely.

Condition: Very good. There are only a couple of tiny pin pricks of loss of silvering to the central mirror, a little on the left hand corner of the central panel of the cresting and a small sprinkling on the rest of the cresting. All the glass flowers are intact and present.
